What is the Video Downloader?

This tool downloads Instagram feed video posts — the video posts that show up in a profile's regular grid alongside photos, including longer, IGTV-style uploads — at the quality they were originally posted in. Paste a username to browse a profile's videos or a direct post link if you already know which one you want.

It's a companion to IGAnony's other download tools rather than a duplicate of them: this one handles regular video posts, while short-form Reels have their own dedicated Reels tools built around reel-specific features like audio extraction. Like every IGAnony tool, it only works on public accounts — the same videos anyone could already watch by opening that profile logged out.

How to download an Instagram video

  1. 1

Get a username or post link

Type the account's username to browse their grid, or paste the direct link to the video post if you have it already.

  2. 2

    Stay on the Posts tab

This page opens on the Posts tab by default — drop your username or link into the search box and submit it.

  3. 3

    Locate the video

A searched username loads the profile's grid so you can find the video post; a direct link opens straight to it with a playable preview.

  4. 4

    Download it

Press download on the video. It saves as an MP4 at the resolution and bitrate it was originally uploaded in, audio included.

What the Video Downloader does

Original quality, audio included

The downloaded MP4 matches the source video's resolution and keeps the full audio track — nothing is muted, cropped, or re-encoded down.

Handles long-form video too

IGTV-style longer video posts download the same way as shorter feed videos — there's no separate length cutoff on this tool.

No watermark

The file you save is the plain video as posted. IGAnony doesn't add a logo, URL overlay, or any branding to downloads.

Username or link, your choice

Search a whole profile by username to browse their videos, or skip straight to one post with a direct link — both paths lead to the same download.

Feed videos vs. Reels: which tool do you need?

Instagram has two kinds of video content: regular feed video posts (including longer IGTV-style uploads), and Reels, Instagram's short-form format with its own editing tools and audio tracks. This Video Downloader is built for the former — the video posts sitting in a profile's main grid.

If what you're after is a Reel, the Reels Downloader is the better fit, since it's built around reel-specific details like trimmed previews and separate audio extraction. If you're not sure which one a post is, the tool will flag it if you paste in a Reel link here, and you can switch tabs from there.

Either way, only public accounts are reachable. A private account's videos are visible only to its approved followers, and no downloader — IGAnony included — changes that.

One practical difference between the two formats: Reels are capped at a shorter runtime and are meant to be watched vertically, while feed video posts and IGTV-style uploads can run much longer and are often shot for a standard or landscape frame. Knowing which one you're dealing with before you paste a link saves a step.

Saving the video on your device

iPhone

Tap download and Safari or Chrome will save the MP4 into your Photos app or Files app depending on your browser settings — from there it plays like any video you recorded yourself.

Android

Tap the download button and the MP4 saves to your device's Downloads folder or Gallery, depending on which browser you're using.

Desktop

Click download and the MP4 saves to your browser's default downloads folder, ready to open in any video player.

Video downloader FAQ

Does this download Reels too?

It can open a Reel link, but Reels have their own dedicated tools built for reel-specific features like audio-only extraction. This Video Downloader is built primarily for regular feed video posts and long-form video.

What format and quality do videos download in?

MP4, at the resolution and bitrate the account originally posted. IGAnony doesn't compress or downscale the file beyond what Instagram already serves.

Does the downloaded video include sound?

Yes. The audio track is part of the download — you get the complete video exactly as it plays on Instagram, not a silent clip.

Can I download a long IGTV-style video?

Yes, there's no separate length restriction. Longer video posts download the same way shorter ones do, at their original quality.

Can I browse a profile's videos without a direct link?

Yes. Search the account's username instead of a post link, and the tool loads their public grid so you can pick the video from there.

Will the account be notified that I downloaded their video?

No. IGAnony fetches public post data the way a logged-out browser would, without using a logged-in Instagram session, so no notification or view record is created.

Why did my video download come out as a photo?

The link probably pointed to a photo post or the wrong item in a carousel. Double-check that the post is actually a single video, and use the Carousel Downloader if it's a multi-slide post.

Can I download video posts from a private account?

No. Only public accounts are reachable through this tool, the same restriction that applies across every IGAnony tool. Private videos stay visible only to approved followers.

Is there a limit to how many videos I can download?

No fixed limit for regular use. Very high-volume automated requests may be rate-limited to keep the service running smoothly for everyone.

Can I download my own old video posts this way?

Yes. Search your own public username the same way you would any other profile, and pull full-quality copies of your own video posts if you no longer have the original files.
